摘要

Prodn. of ceramic materials by calcining of inorganic residues from oil shale after sepn. of the hydrocarbons. Used in hard bricks, flooring tiles, ceramics for construction, and esp. in products for electrical and thermal insulation, and in porous ceramic materials. A useful prod. is obtd. from waste material, by calcining at over 1200 degrees C, a blown material with density below that of water is obtained suitable for use in light-weight concrete and porous prods.
