The parent patent claims a rubber tyre reinforced with light-metal cords. In this addn. a major portion of the wires of which the reinforcing cords are composed are of light metal. Pref. their cross-section is dimensioned so that their resistance to static and dynamic permanent stresses corresponds to that of steel wires intended for similar use. Tensile strength of individual wires is pref. 30-50, (esp. 40)kP. The specific wt. of the light metal employed is pref. 2.72 g/cm3. An Al-alloy contg. 3-6, pref. 4-5.5 wt.% Mg, and 1 wt.% of each of Mn, Cr, Zn and Si, is suitable.
