In a seismic investigation of the subsoil, signals consisting of coded subsections are transmitted to geophone detectors where correlators produce seimograms. To code the subsections they are designed as elements of a binary (or quaternary) system. Each detector array receives at least two signals, the subsections of which form a complementary system. The arrangement results in an effective suppression of the correlation noise on the side wings of the so-called Klauder-wavelets. The waveform which is a vertical stack of the autocorrelation functions of the individual bit elements saves much time.
