Pneumatic mattresses are produced from a pair of superposed plastics webs providing at least one of the webs with a reticulated pattern of a pigmented or metallic layer at locations which are free of subsequent seals and further providing at least one of the webs with perforations in which are thermowelded inflation spigots and then superposing the webs to weld them together at locations which correspond to the mattress configuration. Process permits use of economic batch prodn. of the mattresses.
