A transformer is mounted on top of a switch cabinet, and its terminal pass downwards through the cabinet. The bushing insulators of the terminals are pref. made of epoxy resin. Pref. the transfer has cooling ribs not only at its sides but also on top, which are provided with protective shielding. The transformer pref. forms at least part of the top of the switch cabinet. The arrangement results in more efficient cooling of the transformer, hence better load equalisation of the whole unit.
