Dimensionally stable packages are wrapped in a plastics lay-flat tube by elastically distending the tube at room temp. to increase its cross-section to above that of the package, which is then introduced into the tube. Lay-flat is then allowed to revert to its original state whereby the tube encloses the package elastically with its residual distension. Used for wrapping a number of washing powder packets for bulk sales. Heat shrinking is dispensed with.
