Mfr. of a cushion consisting of a case and a foamed cushion body, comprises placing the case into a deep-drawing mould and causing it to hug the wall of the mould cavity at least partly, using a plunger, after it has been clamped along the edges of the mould. It is then sucked completely against the mould walls. The plunger is retracted and, whilst maintaining reduced pressure (or vacuum), the mould is filled with foam. The case is at least partly sucked against the frontal face of te plunger and fixed there before forced into the mould by the plunger. Suction action of the plunger is interrupted before retraction. Used e.g. for mfr. of motor vehicle upholstery.
