The lifting mechanism with drive is used to rotate a raised load about a vertical axis. It is used e.g. in cleaning chambers and in paint spraying booths. The object to be worked is made accessible on all sides. A drive housing (14) has vertically downwards projecting output shaft (12) and rope connections (20, 21, 22). Upper end (6) of a rotating crane hook (1) is coupled to rotating drive by a spring loaded friction coupling (5). It is connected so that it is aligned with the output shaft. The spring loaded friction coupling (5) is a conical coupling connected by a synchronised unit (11) with the output shaft (12). The loading spring (9) is arranged between the inner cone (7) and the axially fixed output shaft.
