Carrier for mounted transparencies - uses corner-shaped, spring-loaded piston action for gripping and centre slide with lever release

A self-centering film holder is primarily for mounted transparencies with rigid borders. A frame holds an internal plate carrying spring-loaded piston grips to strategic points for holding the four corners of a transparency in a mount. An internal turning plate has a recess which locates on a pin on each spring loaded piston grip. These grips are released by pressing together two finger grips one of which turns the internal plate and the slots against the pins to release the piston grips. A transparency is dropped in and the internal turning plate restores under its own spring tension to grip the transparency by the four corners in locating recesses.
