Time error correction of video signal from video recorder - delaying signal in fixed and variable delay stages under control of signal from synchronisation pulse phase comparator

Video signals from the recorder are delayed in a first delay stage by at least a whole line period. An additional delay is produced in a second delay stage (12), controlled by error signals. Non-delayed synchronisation pulses of the non-delayed video signal are separated from the signal and compared in a first phase comparator (21) with reference signal pulses. The error signal is applied to an element (23, 24) controlling the delay of the second delay stage (12).
