There are parallel grating bars in the covering grating held together by cross connections, with resilient connecting members forming them into rigid pieces. Individual bars are linked to the elastic connecting members by fixture elements, pref. attached to the bars' underside. The bars can incorporate a thread hole to accommodate a clamping screw. The resilient member may extend over the whole length of the piece of grating, pref. inside the cross connection. This enables grating pieces to be shortened as required.
