The aerial scans the surface of Earth by a sharply focussed beam, linearly deflected transversally to the direction of flight of the craft. A primary radiation system consists of a strip-shaped support (2) moving transversally to the craft like a tank track, and two primary radiators (3, 4) of which one always faces the reflector, and the other away from it. The support (2) and the reflector are so arranged, that the primary radiator (4) moves on the reflector (1) focal line. The radiator (3) facing the reflector (1) is switched on by a microwave switch.
