The dustbin is assembled from a set of pieces thus avoiding the inconvenience of warehousing and transporting a complete dustbin. The set of pieces consists of wall elements (1, 2, 9, 10) which are assembled to form a tubular structure to hold the rubbish and also a shutter acting as a lid which can be either fixed or pivoted on the structure. The wall elements can either be fitted into each other on assembly or be already jointed provided that in this case other elements are attached to ensure the rigidity of the dustbin.
