Motor vehicle bumper bar impact absorber - has elastic plastics rings with air pockets and telescopic clamping rod

The impact energy absorbing element is used esp. for mounting of motor vehicle bumper bars. The absorbing element returns automatically to the initial position after displacement under impact force. The energy absorbing element (1) is made of stacked round, self restoring plastics elements (6). The stacked elements enclose sealed air pockets (5) in which the air is compressed on energy absorption. Centring features are provided and the stack is clamped by telescopic central clamping and guide bolt.
