The modified form of vehicle identification is stamped onto the vehicle by the maker, either onto the chassis or in a prominent position on the body. No other license plate is required, other than a tax stamp, and the identification cannot be removed without damage to the vehicle. Each vehicle is then provided with a unique, clearly visible identification which can replace the conventional license plate.
