The disc (10) of the rotor (7) which is mounted remote from the inlet opening (15) as well as the wall (23) of the pump housing (14) which covers the rotor are each provided with at least one aperture (21, 22, 24). They provide a flow path which emanates from the inlet opening (15) and passes through the disc and housing so that a considerable part of the air brought into the pump with the wash fluid can escape back to the wash container. The apertures are preferably set near the axis of the disc and housing wall so that in this part of the pump the forces bearing on the wash fluid and air carried along therewith are comparatively light so that the air is separated off. Although foam is produced the pump acts at a sufficiently high pressure without any increased water consumption.
