Damped drawbar construction for caravan - uses two angled sections hinged at rear of chassis and is elastically supported at front

The drawbar of the caravan has two angled sections (3). These sections are secured on the side chassis members of the van by pivot links (A). The sections are also braced on the front of the chassis by elastic clamps (B) which achieve a stabilised support. The elastic mounting serves to damp any vibrations and hinders any slewing movements. The system esp. damps sideways and vertical motions of the central part of the two angled sections.
