The lightweight girder is for use in a solid ceiling made up from lengthways girders or beams and ceiling blocks, the girders having reinforcing steel cast into the base part. This reinforcement (2) comprises two flat open pockets (4, 5) connected by a cross arm stem (7), the lower of the two being cast with the base piece (3). The reinforcement is cold-drawn or cold-rolled from steel sheeting. The upper pocket may also be cast with a head piece corresponding to the base piece, the latter being pref. cast from light concrete, while the stem may incorporate cutouts (8).
