Energy independent neutron measuring probe, used at high temps., has a cylindrical emitter with a connecting piece, which has metallurgically connected to it an angled measuring inner conductor section of a covered measuring circuit. The covered measuring circuit, insulating cylinder, connecting stick and emitter are sounded by a ceramic insulating hood, and the whole arrangement is enclosed in a cylindrical commutator with a face seal. The probe is used for e.g. water cooled nuclear reactors with operating temps. =400 degrees C. As well as high temps., the probe can withstand strong thermal stress changes.
