Rectification system with internal dephlegmator - having dephlegmator and boiler built into rectification column for improved thermal efficiency

Rectification process involves sepn. of two or more component mixture where one is of higher and the other of lower volatility. Sepn. is achieved by internal reflux from a dephlegmator. This is operated so that it forms an integral part of the rectification column. The boiler also forms an integral part of the column base. Thus the cooling is distributed along the top of the column and the heating along the bottom. The actual process streams can form the heating media, by operating two columns at different pressures. Used for sepn. of liqs. with different relative volatility e.g. in absorption refrigeration circuit. Allows the dephlegmator to operate at the max. possible temp. and the reboiler at the lowest possible temp.
