Sausage sheath of rustic appearance mfr. - using knitted mesh surrounding tubular sausage skin

A continuous sheath for sausages consists of a tubular skin to which a knitted meshed net is applied on the outside. The net consists of spiral threads which are joined to each other by three to six axial loops. After drying an the inflated state the sheath is ready for packing. When filled with sausage meat, this sheath has a rustic appearance and has a greater strength than the skin by itself.
