The heat exchanger consists of a number of rectangular pipe-panels (4, 4') arranged hanging next to one another with in each case one upper collector (2, 2') and one lower collector (3, 3'), between which parallel heat transmission pipes (1, 1') extend. Connected to the two ends of the upper collectors (2, 2') is in each case a downpipe (5, 6; 5', 6') and the respectively adjacent downpipes are interconnected directly or via webs to form an impermeable side wall. The two downpipes (5, 6; 5', 6') of in each case one pipe panel (4 or 4') are connected via flexible connection lines (9, 10; 9', 10') to the lower collector (3'; 3) of the next pipe panel. Provided in the region of the lower collectors (3, 3') is a knocking device (40, 42, 50) which is intended for shaking the heat transmission pipes. The result is a constructively simple and cost-saving structure of the heat exchanger which can be cleaned easily and effectively by actuating the knocking device. IMAGE
