A head harness is esp. for heavy night glasses or similar. It has a pref. kidney-shaped face mask with a cushion for the forehead. A protective housing surrounds the optical appts. which can be adjusted and fixed within it. Head bands are symmetrically distributed about the edge of the mask and are adjustable in length so that the oculars can be individually adjusted w.r.t. the hood extending over the head of the user. The neck portion of the hood can be fitted with crossing support belts having their ends fastened like braces or a brassiere.
