The unit for knotting carpets has a rotary knotting from which is clamped on a stand. The stand is composed of two vertical side walls, a horizontal wand to protect the legs, and an angled leg protection wall mounted between the side walls. The upper edge of the angled wall butts tightly against the horizontal protective wall. The lower edge of the angled wall ranges into the carpet holding trough, which is secured to the side walls by intermediate walls. The design allows the operative simple and comfortable access to the material, and prevents dust, fluff or other debris falling on the operative.
