The train for an underground public transport system comprises a series of standardised passenger cell units borne by sets of running gear set between them and at the ends. The running-gear units between cells are double-axled bogie frames, those at the train centre, at least, being drive units. Detachably mounted power control units are supported by the intermediate bogies. Cells may be mounted via beak or swans' neck type supports.
