Substd. alkoxy-carbostyril derivs. - useful as antithrombotic and cardioactive agents, used for treating thromboembolic disorders and arteriosclerosis

Carbostyril derivs. of formula (I) are new: (where A and B are H or together form a bond; D is 2-6C alkylene opt. substd. by OH; R1 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R2 is H, 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, a 6-10C aryl or 7-11C aralkyl gp. opt. ring-substd. by 1 or 2 Me, MeO, OH, acetylamino, phenyl and/or halogen gps.; a 4-9C heteroaryl or 5-10C heteroaralkyl gp. (opt. in N-xode form), triphenylmethyl, 4,5-bis(p-chlorophenyl)-2-oxazolyl or C(NH)NH2; m = 0,1 or 2). (I) inhibit thrombocyte aggregation and have a positive inotropic effect; they are useful for prophylaxis of thrombo-embolic disorders and arteriosclerosis. Specifically claimed cpds. are 6-(4-X-butoxy)-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril (where X = phenylsulphinyl, 2-pyridylsulphinyl or 4-chlorophenylsulphinyl) and 6-(4-phenylsulphinyl-butoxy)-carbostyril.
