New insecticidal agents contain benzodioxole derivs. of formula (I): (where R' and R2 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aryl, or R' + r2 is alkylene. (I) are inhibitors of the development of insects and mites, and may be used to control such pests in agriculture, forestry, stored products and materials protection, and the hygiene sector. (I) may be made up into conventional formulations such as solutions, emulsions, wettable powders, suspensions, powders, dusts, foams, pastes, soluble powders, granulates, aerosols, emulsifiable concentrates, seed dressings etc. Formulations generally contain 0.1-95 (pref. 0.5-90) wt. % (I).
