The marine V-drive has an inclined propeller shaft (5) which is drivingly coupled by a flexible belt to an output shaft (8). The belt passes around respective pulleys on the shafts and is deflected by rollers located between the pulleys. The propeller shaft is journalled in the inclined bore of a bush carried in a fixed support. By rotatably adjusting the bush in the support, the angle of inclination of the shaft can be changed. The belt can be provided on both surfaces with teeth.
