Telephone dialling aid for young children - uses special symbols on dial with reference card pictorially showing location

A simple symbolic system is used to enable small children to use the telephone with a degree of certainty. The system is designed to allow children to contact parents who are absent from home. A number of cards are prepared that visually indicate the location of the parents and the number to telephone. A drawing or photograph (41) indicates the location of the parents, e.g. an aunt with two children. The telephone number is represented by a string of symbols (40) that are reproduced around the telephone dial.
