The electromotor has a short-circuited multiple rotor mounted in the drive surface and supported by a magnetic field and having thin-walled, low-inertia, conducting-path-carrying drive surfaces driven by a moving electromagnetic field. The rotor may have various surface shapes. The pole windings are supplied with current from the outside using suitable circuitry on plug-in circuit boards. If necessary an internal ventilating system may be incorported . The motor has an emergency mechanical bearing as back-up if its magnetic bearing fails.
