Angle-setting servo motor system - has tracked angle encoders with detectors for positional feedback to stepping motor

The servo motor system sets angles between 0 and 360 deg. and has a direct drive stepping motor and positional feedback using a digital angle coder. The actual angular position is measured by a linear coded angle coder having a specified number of tracks associated with a specified number of detectors. Specifically, a stepping motor with 50 steps per revolution can have an angle coder with 3 tracks with 5, 5 and 2 detectors respectively. The advantage lies in the system's small diameter which allows it to have an extended cylindrical shape.
