Separator to break oil-water emulsions - using cylindrical support with semipermeable membrane and rotating agitator to stir concentrate on membrane surface

Emulsion separator consists of a semi-permeable membrane which is permeable to the continuous phase bt impermeable to the dispersed phase which is being recovered. The membrane is supported on the reverse side from the emulsion. The separator consists of a cylindrical vessel, the lower part of the wall of which forms the support for the membrane. The vessel has an outer collection vessel for permeate. The inner surface of the membrane is agitated by a rotating stirrer. For separating emulsions esp. oil/water emulsions. Is of simple construction, requires low installation space, needs low energy input and low losses, and can operate continuously.
