A lift unit (2) is inclined downwards to receive the platform and comprises swivably mounted coupling limbs (3-10). An hydraulic cylinder (15) operates on the limbs in order to raise and lower the lift. The base frame (1) has a vertical storage frame (18). A pair of spring-loaded transverse beams (19) is mounted at the lower ends of the base frame. A first limit switch (22) is activated by the supported platform in order to activate the lift unit. A second switch (23) is used to activate the control for returning the lift to its initial, lower position.
