Continuously printing textile webs by wet transfer process - exerting gas or steam pressure on side of belt remote from web to prevent local printing faults

Textile webs are continuously printed using wet transfer process by exerting on the endless belt pressing the web into contact with the transfer web and remote from the textile web, a gaseous or steam pressure which is greater than the steam pressure forming on the other side of the water impermeable endless belt and facing the textile web. Exerting pressure over a large area of the side of the belt prevents formation of linear and faulty printing lines. Pref. the steam is superheated and the gaseous medium is warm or hot air.
