摘要
A lens for concentrating X-rays consists of the internal surface of a hollow object lined with crystals, at which the lattice planes reflect the radiation according to Braggs's law. More specifically, the form of the internal surface is such that the major part of the radiation is concentrated into a geometric figure, esp. a point. Pref. radiation issuing from the point is reflected internally according to Bragg's law and is thus focused at another point. With this arrangement, the internal surface is a surface of rotation for which the peripheral angle is (180 degrees-2a), where a is the angle of the Bragg's equation. Used for focusing X-ray images of small areas in accorance with optical laws. The arrangement provides accurate and clear focusing with a wider practicable base angle than was previously possible.
