Heat exchanger has tubular jacket formed from a spiral tube of a conducting material. Inside this are a number (esp. four) tubes also of a conducting material. These are pressed against the inner surface of the spiral tube. The inner tubes are pressed together but have spaces between them and these create flow passages for a second heat transfer medium. The spiral tube can be formed from two U shaped bends which are interlinked and wound onto a cylindrical core. This forms a spiral tube. Used to allow heat transfer between two flowing media and gives a heat exchanger which in proportion to its dimensions and materials content has a high rating.
