The combined harvester has a chopper on the straw outlet. A guide device distributes the straw equally to the cutting area (15) and is arranged in the chute (11) which connects the straw walker-outlet (10) with the cutter (12). The front guide mechanism (16) consists of a wall (18) which is inclined to the vertical and runs over the complete vehicle width. Several guide plates (20) are spaced in planes normal to the plane of the wall (18). Specifically, the guide plates (20) are pref. pivot supported on the wall (18) at their bottom ends.
