A drum has two end discs (6, 7) spaced axially apart. The mechanism within the drum has a triangular balance disc (10) pivoted (15) of the centre (1) of the end discs. A tension cable (23) runs from a pin (12) on the disc to a reel on the central shaft and is tensioned by a hand lever outside the end discs. A pin (17) transmits the force from a drive disc (18) to the pressure plate (11) of the balance disc. The drive disc also holds the end of the tension cable (24) from the next mechanism. There are three such mechanisms in a circle within the drum.
