Seal for the gas ducts of a regenerative heat-exchanger comprises a sealing strip bearing upon a rotary, disc-shaped, storage body and consisting of a sealing membrane which extends over the gap between strip and the facing wall of a casing. A composite low-frictional coating is fastened to the strip by means of counter-sunk screws. There is a yielding intermediate layer between strip and coating. A ring (washer) of supple graphite film is arranged between the underside of each screw-head and the associated depression in the coating into which the screw-head fits. Gaps near screw-heads and film are packed with a silicone resin. Any depression left above the screw-heads after the screws have been tightened down is filled with a mixt. of silicone resin and graphite.
