A model of the prostate gland is constructed to enable surgical techniques for resectioning to be practised. The model of the prostrate gland (3) is held by straps (12) and is produced from a suitable organic material. The model is mounted within a cylindrical housing (1) with a water inlet (10). A flexible diaphragm (6) has a tube (9) representing the ureten, with an orifice (7). Surgical instruments are inserted through the orifice to gain access to the model of the prostrate gland.
