A full twenty four hour cycle of an electromechanical clock is provided. The system uses a suitable gearbox which gears down from a synchronous motor drive operating with a snap action contact for final control. The synchronous motor operating on a 50 Hz supply drives the centre shaft (1) and the final cycle control cam (17) is driven over three gear reduction ratios (4, 5 and 8, 9 and 12, 13), each of 12:1. The output cam (17) performs one cycle for each 24 hours, with a contact being closed once each day.
