The detector tube is particularly intended for X-ray fluorescent radiation spectrometer, in order to increase higher measuring accuracy at reduced measuring periods. Several adjacent chambers of rectangular cross section are connected for gas flow and are arranged orthogonally to the radiation inlet direction. Each chamber contains at least two parallel detector wires at right angles to the radiation direction. All the wires are electrically in parallel. Preferably the distance of one wire in each chamber to the inlet window ranges from the single to double spacing of the wires to the chamber wall.
