The packing container is cylindrical or prismatic, the edge at the base being strengthened by a reinforcement acting as a support on the inside for an internal baseplate. The reinforcement is formed by an edge strip integral with the container sleeve portion and folded inwards along a weakened line. Second weakened lines at right angles to this first one form folds at regular intervals in the einforcement, where the strip bears closely against the sleeve portion. Between the folds the strip clear of the latter, to form support points for the baseplate, and also the lid if necessary.
