Gaseous content in diesel engine fuel feed - is produced by cracking process in heat exchanger fed with engine exhaust gases

The feed arrangement is used for input of liquid and gaseous fuel in diesel engines, the gaseous content being directly produced by fuel "cracking" and vaporization in an installation to which the engine's exhaust gases are fed. A pump unit is provided, comprising an injection pump (6), with additional pump units commensurate with the number of cylinders. The injection pump (6) feeds 70 to 80% of the total fuel requirement via usual valves (10) to the combustion chambers, whilst the additional units feed the remaining 20 to 30% fuel to a heat exchanger (5) for conversion of the liquid content into gas.
