A dough proportioning grinding machine consists of a drum with four lines of cylinders and pistons at right angles to each other. The 3 o'clock position is the weighing station, the 12 o'clock position the grinding station, and the 9 o'clock position the ejection station. The drive for the positive disc cam which actuates the pistons can be interrupted for a set time by a magnetic coupling to achieve a dwell in the retraction of the piston during the grinding stage. The piston motion can thus be affected without having to change the cam.
