The settee seat unfolds to move upwards and away from the settee back to form a horizontal bed platform (30) with subsidiary pinned members automatically providing remote vertical leg supports (12) and a tail board (27), with the settee back (2) then forming the head board. An L shaped subframe (2, 1)) with members aligning parallel with settee back and base, supports in the retracted position a parallel L frame (8, 9, 3) with pin joints at nodes (34, 23, 33) and at a base member forward point (35). The L frame pivots forwards and upwards with a short forward cantilevering of the top member (8, 9); from which extremity (16) the remaining subframe articulates through 180 deg.
