Dual fuel central heating boiler - has separate combustion chambers for solid and liquid fuels in longitudinal casing

The boiler has a water jacket between inner (2) and outer (3) rectangular casings. The space inside the inner casing is divided by a short water wall (7) into a long combustion chamber (6) for solid fuel at the front of the boiler and a much shorter combustion chamber (5) for liquid fuel at the back of the boiler. There is a charging door (13) for solid fuel at the front of the boiler and an air inlet register (22) at the back of the boiler. This opens into passage (24) under the rear combustion chamber to underneath the grate (11) of the front combustion chamber. The oil burner is inserted through an opening in the side of the rear combustion chamber which has a refractory base (18).
