A tyre valve for the wheel of a heavy vehicle has a support with a retainer (11) wider than the valve tube. This is attached to extend sideways. An incurving opening is machined in the retainer to receive the tube (10) at a bent position. The retainer has a longitudinal groove of partly circular section, joining up with the incurving opening. The retainer has a flexible metal part mounted transversely relative to the groove and hinged on one side of the retainer (18). The retainer also has on its lower side a central longitudinal groove. The arrangement is particularly suitable for twin wheel assemblies when one tyre deflates.
