Telescopic boat hook or fishing gaff - with spring to extend inner sleeve when release button is pressed and hook springs open automatically

The boat hook or fishing gaff has an outer sheath and an inner sleeve (2) which closes telescopically inside it. At the end of the sleeve is a hook (3). When pushed into the sheath, the sleeve compresses a spring and is held closed by a spring button engaging a hole. In the closed position, the hook pivots and its free end (3') enters a slot (2') in the sleeve, compressing another spring. To extend, the hook the button is pressed and the sleeve is pushed out against a stop. When clear of the sheath, the hook opens automatically under the pressure of its spring.
