The integrated circuit with a light element (6) forms an electric component. The light element serves as indicator for the integrated circuit function, the circuit and the light element being mounted on a support platelet (1). Preferably the integrated circuit is coated with a protective layer (9) which may be transparent. The component may have a transparent housing, at least partly, which may be coloured. The light element may transmit light of a limited spectral range, being typically formed by a light emitting diode.
